Description

In 1991 Michele, with the help of the father Silvano, started to modify the winery, that once used to grow different kinds of animals and vegetables, to exclusively produce wine. The first vintage started in 2000. Year after year they added new vineyards to obtain about 20 hectares. Now they have approximatively 40 hectares located in La Morra, Verduno and Serralunga d’Alba.

Michele Reverdito is a “rising star” winemaker in Barolo. Michele, the owner of the family winery manages all the operations while his sister Sabina and their parents Silvano and Maria care for the vineyards. Farming is sustainable and his estate bans the use of all herbicides, pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Only traditional copper and sulfur are used sparingly to prevent mildew. Michele prides himself on using traditional, “old school,” methods to make his wines. These include hand-harvesting and sorting, the use of wild yeasts and 4,000-litre barrels to age the wines.

The nose shows wild herbs with notes of grapefruit and crushed stone. It is energetic on the palate with zesty acidity contrasting its silky textures with ripe stone fruits and saline-minerality. It finishes long with citrus-tinged minerals and hints of wild herbs.
