Critics

“The 2013 Barolo Rocche dell’Annunziata is fabulous. Knock-out aromatics, silky tannins and voluptuous fruit are some of the signatures. This is another young Barolo that is drinking almost too well for such a young wine. Today, the flavors are quite primary and the wine is dense, but there is certainly a lot to look forward to. The tannins are present, yet very nicely integrated for a young Barolo. This is a terrific Barolo in the making.” 94 Points, Antonio Galloni

Producer

After his father’s estate was divided, Renato established his own estate in the Arborina area in 2005.
The vineyards stand in the prized La Morra crus of Rocche dell’Annunziata, Arborina and Pozzo.
The cellar is extremely modern and equipped with vinification vats with temperature control and every year 30% of the barriques (exclusively medium toasted French oak) are replaced with new ones.

The estate is now run by Renato together with his daughter Chiara and his son Stefano.
Renato is a perfectionist in the vineyards: no chemical products are sprayed, only copper and sulphur is used, grass is left on the aisles between the rows of vines and then it is tilled into the soil in the winter, which means that no herbicides nor fertilizers are used either. He very carefully drops fruit at the end of July and shortly before the harvest so that the clusters that are picked are perfect.
