ITALY Piedmont Bold Complex Critically Acclaimed Dark Fruits Dry Elegant Floral Spicy Barolo Nebbiolo 2012 DOCG

Description

“The 2012 Barolo Bric dël Fiasc is a delightful wine with a full and generous personality. Compared to past vintages, this edition shows a soft and round disposition that doesn’t place it too far away from the similarly warm 2011 growing season. Dark fruit, spice and balsam herb are well balanced against one another. Although there are many parallels between the two vintages, this wine feels more delineated and sharply defined in terms of mouthfeel and structure. The wine closes on a tart and edgy note.” 93 pts, Wine Advocate

Paolo Scavino owns 29 hectares entirely in the Barolo area and works on 20 Barolo historical crus located in Castiglione Falletto, Barolo, La Morra, Novello, Serralunga d’Alba, Verduno and Roddi.

The Scavino family distinguishes itself from the beginning by their scrupulous care of the vineyards and passion for the terroir. Their core belief is the supremacy of the viticulture above oenology, therefore the focus is the care of the vines in order to grow ripe and healthy grapes. In winemaking, minimal and equal intervention are sought, to preserve the natural diversities of the terroir.
