Description

Critics:

“The colour is intense ruby red with subtle hints of orange. The wine has a Bouquet that is full and fragrant, evoking withered fruits, spices and liquorice. It has a dry, well balanced taste with persistent rich fruit.” – Producer

The name “Ognissole”, of Greek origin, is mentioned in a poem of Leonida di Taranto (third Century B.C.) that describes this land as full of charm and covered by the sun for most of the day. Ognissole embodies the essence of Puglia where the sun and the influence of the sea give richness, character and elegance to the grapes. The logo is a detailed re-interpretation of a mosaic found in a “domus” built between the end of the third century and the beginning of the second century B.C., now stored in the National Archeological Museum of Taranto.

Cefalicchio vineyards are situated in the two most vocated viticulture areas in the North of Puglia: Castel del Monte and Trani. Nero di Troia is the native varietal dominating the scene in the former, while in the latter white Moscato expresses its highest potential giving birth to wonderful aromatic wines.
