Kooyong, ‘Massale’ Pinot Noir 2019
2 in stock
“A deep cherry hue. The nose is vibrantly fruited, with dark cherry and raspberry aromas, violetty purple floral elements and top notes of savoury spice, earth and undergrowth. The palate is ebullient and somewhat generous, with attractive yet balanced ripeness propelling the red/purple fruits and spicy dark floral characters. Balanced acidity and fine but plentiful tannins help this wine linger in the mouth.”
The Massale is the ‘entry level’ Pinot Noir in their range. It’s a blend of fruit from their Tuerong and Balnarring vineyards. The aim is always to over-deliver with this wine and the Kooyong team invariably succeeds on that front.
Located on the Mornington Peninsula, Kooyong is a specialist Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producer. The 40 hectare vineyard consists of five distinct vineyard blocks. Limited quantities of Single Block wines are made when vintage conditions allow.
